Ret. Col. Ralph Thiele is the President of EuroDéfense-Germany, Chairman of the Berlin based Political-Military Society and the Owner and Managing Director of StratByrd Consulting, Andernach, Germany.
Ret. Col. Ralph Thiele is representing the German Ministry of Defense as Member Advisory Board of the European Centre of Excellence for Hybrid Threats, Helsinki, Finland. He is also Member Advisory Board of the German Employers Association, Germany.
Ret. Col. Ralph Thiele brings 25 years’ experience in top national and international political-military leadership and policy assignments.
In his military career, Colonel Thiele served in the Planning and Policy Staff of the German Minister of Defense, in the personal staffs of the German Armed Forces Vice Chief of Defense Staff and the (U.S.) NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe.
Thiele has been Chef de Cabinet and Chief of Staff at the NATO Defense College in Rome, Italy, and Director of Faculty at the German General Staff and Command College in Hamburg. As Commander of the Bundeswehr Transformation Center, he drove for 5 years Bundeswehr joint procurement planning and the development of advanced operational concepts to include the Bundeswehr C4ISR capabilities. Thiele introduced Network Enabling Capabilities into the German Armed Forces, NATO and the European Union and was involved developing interagency and multinational homeland security capabilities.
